TEAM/IFPTE Local 161 Board Training

This week, TEAM/IFPTE Local 161 board members gathered together in Winnipeg for training and strategic planning.

The Local recently held elections for board positions, including the election of a new president, David Eyjolfson. Board Members learned about the history of TEAM and what their roles and responsibilities are as board members. IFPTE staff Bill Fitzpatrick and Anna Liu were also in attendance to assist with the development of a strategic plan to increase TEAM’s presence in the workplace and strengthen its political influence. Training continued the following day with a crash course on labour relations and Robert’s Rules of Order. President Eyjolfson said “this training was a launching pad for us. It has given us solid grounding to continue the important work ahead, and I’m looking forward to getting our members involved in the process”.
