IFPTE Federal Caucus Holds Informal Zoom Meeting
The IFPTE Federal Caucus met this week to discuss several matters impacting IFPTE Locals and members employed in the federal government.
The meeting, which was chaired by IFPTE Western Federal Area Vice President/Local 121 President, Jamie Uyeunten, largely focused on legislative issues such as the federal employee pay raise, telework policies, and status of agency funding measures before Congress.
Uyeunten commented on the meeting: “This meeting was originally slated to prepare Locals for a government shutdown, which fortunately has been avoided for now. However, it allowed us to pivot toward discussing strategy and updates concerning other major issues before Congress impacting the federal sector, as well as preparations for the IFPTE mini-legislative conference that will occur in early February. It was a productive and well-attended meeting.”
The Federal Caucus is slated to meet again in January.
